When Benjamin Bunny grew up, he married his sweetheart Flopsy. They had a large family, and they were very cheerful. They had six bunnies and named them: Mopsy, Topsy, Lopsy, Bopsy, Dopsy and Popsy. Everyone knew them as the Flopsy Bunnies.

Benjamin Bunny and the Flopsy Bunnies were feeling very hungry. They knew that next door Mr. McGregor's garden was growing full of yummy vegetables, but they also knew that he did not like to have bunnies eating in his garden. But they were so hungry that they decided to sneak across the field to Mr. McGregor's garden. They found the garden full of lettuce.

The Flopsy Bunnies stuffed their mouths full of the juicy lettuce. They ate so much they got sleepy, and decided to lay down in the green grass. The little Flopsy Bunnies slept delightfully in the warm sun.

Off in the distance came the loud clackitty sound of Mr. McGregor riding the lawn mowing machine. Thomasina Tittlemouse, a friendly woodmouse with a long tail and a friend of Peter Rabbit, rustled across the grass and awakened Benjamin Bunny.
Page 5
While she and Benjamin were talking, Mr. McGregor suddenly emptied out a sackful of grass cuttings right upon the top of the sleeping Flopsy Bunnies! Thomasina and Benjamin quickly hid so Mr. McGregor could not see them.

The little rabbits smiled sweetly in their sleep under the shower of grass; they did not awake. They dreamed that their mother, Flopsy, was tucking them into a hay bed.

Mr. McGregor looked down after emptying his sack. He saw funny little brown tips of ears sticking up through the grass cuttings.
Page 8
"One, two, three, four, five, six little rabbits!" he said as he dropped them into his sack. The Flopsy Bunnies were dreaming that their mother was turning them over in bed.

Mr. McGregor went back to his house and while he was gone, Mrs. Flopsy Bunny left her burrow and came across the field. She wondered where everybody was?
Page 10
Then Thomasina and Benjamin came out of hiding to tell Mrs. Flopsy what had happened. Benjamin and Flopsy tried to undo the string on the sack but they were not successful.
Page 11
All of the sudden, Mrs. Tittlemouse had a great idea! She nibbled a hole in the bottom corner of the sack. The little rabbits were carefully pulled out one by one and each little bunny awoke from a pleasant dream.
Page 12
Then they all hid under a bush and watched for Mr. McGregor. He came back and picked up the sack, but noticed it was rather light.
Page 13
He opened the sack and found that all the little bunnies were gone. He looked around but couldn't find them anywhere.

Mr. McGregor walked back towards his home searching for the bunnies. Once he was out of sight, Benjamin, Flopsy and the Flopsy Bunnies ran as fast as their little legs could carry them back to their burrow. Once they were home, they were safe and sound.
