Rocko Goes Coco-Loco

Page 1
Rocko the rhino got up
with a start
Oh my, oh my,
was he late today,
He hated missing any action
All through the day...
Page 2
He rushed out of bed
and peered out
There was nobody,
just nobody in sight,
Had they all gone to
have a big adventure
Leaving him behind,
oh look at his plight!
Page 3
He called for his mamma
And heard a loud hush,
"What's the matter
little Rocko?
And why such a rush?"
Page 4
"Where have they all gone?
Mamma, where's everybody?
All my friends and playmates
I can see nobody..."
Page 5
"There's Ellie the elephant
Right behind the tree,
And Gina the giraffe
With the monkey twins
I can see...
Blippo the hippo is
taking a walk
There I can see him,
the bubble-head,
He sure is up to no good
And is looking for some
mischief instead."
Page 6
"Oh! What a relief
I thought they
had left me out,
Of some wonderful
adventure
In some jungle hideout."
Page 7
"Now let me see what
I can do today
Fly a kite or play
marbles maybe,
How about ball at the beach
Or maybe a shot at
making candy...
Or something
wonderful to eat
What was that in the story
I read yesterday
The baker's wife
made some gingerbread
But coconut biscuits
were her mainstay..."
Page 8
"Coconut biscuits...mmm
that sounds good
I have never tasted any,
Mamma do you know
how to bake
Coconut biscuits,
that sell one for a penny?"
Page 9
"Coconut biscuits,
how nice my dear
But I can't bake any
for I don't know how
Why don't I make you
some nutty bread
That's really good and
healthy chow."
Page 10
"No...coconut biscuits...
I must have today
Let me see what
Ellie can do,
She's a resourceful
one for sure
And a good friend, too."
Page 11
"Hey Ellie!
Good morning dear pal
I have a favor to ask of you
Coconut biscuits
I must have today
Nice and crisp,
without much ado."
"Coconut biscuits…
You do have
strange requests,
my friend,
Let me see what I can do
You one-horned fiend!!"
Page 12
"Mother Hen can bake
a mean biscuit or two
Let's see if she can rustle
these for us
Coconut biscuits...
sounds good to me
I wonder if they will be
too much of a fuss."
Page 13
"Here we are at her door
Knock, Knock, it's us,
Mother Hen,
We have a request to make
Actually it's for
this rhinoceros."
Page 14
"He wants coconut biscuits
Could you bake
some for him?
For you are the only
one who can
Bake wonderful things,
like a fish can swim."
Page 15
"Coconut biscuits...you say
Yes, I have a recipe for sure,
I will need some things
I am out of flour and more."
Page 16
"Some flour, some eggs,
Butter and sugar, too,
Some baking powder
And coconuts, not one,
but two."
Page 17
"I will get the rest,
Get me the coconuts,
you fellows,
And I will rustle
up the biscuits
Before you can say
Henry Cadbellows."
Page 18
"Coconuts...coconuts...
Come, let's go to
Mike Monkey,
He can get them for us
By climbing up the tree."
Page 19
"One down, one more to go
Thank you Mike,
you are one trusted pal,
These coconuts are
for biscuits
Mother Hen's going to bake,
the sweet gal!"
Page 20
"Here you are,
all husked and split too
Mother Hen,
let your magic work,
Ah! what a wonderful smell
That's an added perk."
Page 21
"Here they are boys
Let them cool
for a minute or two,
Before you fall upon them
Like creatures from a zoo..."
"Oh! Wonderful,
wonderful,
They smell wonderful
for sure."
"Good, take them for
your pals and mother, too
And for the monkey,
here are some more..."
Page 22
"Mike, here are some for you
And for Gina, Blippo,
and the monkey twins,
For my Mamma and Papa
And for Ellie, my pal
in all my shenanigans."
