"It's time for bed," said Mom.
Paul toppled skyscrapers and
crashed cars on his bedroom floor.
Page 2
He parked his cars in a long row...
Page 4
"Time for bed,"
Mom said again.
Page 5
Paul grumbled.
The lights were on
through the
whole house.
EVERYONE
was still up.
Page 6
"Why do I have to go to bed?" Paul screeched.
Page 7
His lips trembled. His nose sniffled. His eyes watered.
Page 8
Paul twitched and quivered and grunted.
Page 9
His hair grew. A tail sprouted. Sharp claws jabbed from his fingertips.
Page 10
Paul stomped and smashed.
Page 11
He bashed and crashed. He shrieked and howled.
Page 12
"I see you've turned into a little monster again,"
Dad said. Paul roared and hissed.
He twisted and spat.
He wrestled and wriggled.
Page 13
Dad scooped up
the squirming
monster and
gently rocked him.
Page 15
Paul swayed and sighed. He hummed and sang. He yawned and snuggled.
Page 16
"I'm tired," he said softly.
Page 17
Mom straightened Paul's pajamas.
Dad put Paul into his warm, fluffy bed.
Page 18
Paul cuddled
his teddy bear.
He nestled into
his pillow.
Then he kissed
his mom and dad
good night.
Page 19
"Sweet dreams, my
little monster," said Mom.
Page 20
"Good night," Paul yawned.
Page 21
Dad tucked the covers in snug around Paul.
"You know Paulie," Dad whispered, "I used
to be a little bit of a monster myself."
