Page 1
Here is a monster who likes to stomp around. Listen to the piano making stomping sounds!
Page 2
From tree to tree he dashes, playing peek-a-boo.
Hear the music sneak on its tiptoes too.
Page 3
See if you can hear him now, he must be right nearby!
First he growls way down low, and then he growls up high.
Page 4
Running through the trees, he stops to shake nuts down.
The music crescendos from a soft to a LOUD sound!
Page 5
Knock. Knock. Knock. Knock. Nuts fall on his head.
His face is steaming red!
Page 6
Here come a swarm of bees, awoken from their sleep.
The monster swats them with his claws in long, rising sweeps.
Buzz. Grr!
Page 7
Where there are bees there also must be honey.
Hear him slow down as he climbs - a fall would not be funny!
Page 8
He quietly removes the honey with his careful claw.
The piano plays so soft and high, it's hardly there at all.
Page 9
With a belly full of honey, he's off to stomp some more!
Do you remember how it sounded when he stomped before?
Page 10
He's growling high and low again. You have heard this too.
Monsters like to have their fun. This is nothing new.
Page 11
Running through the trees, licking honey from his nose,
Hear that old crescendo, getting louder as it goes!
Page 12
Knock. Knock. Nuts fall on his head.
His face is steaming red!
Page 13
Buzz. Buzz.
Swat. “Go away! Go away.”
Page 15
Now let's listen to the piano sonata all the way through. See if you can hear the monster as he goes…Stomping around, tip-toeing from tree to tree, growling low and high, shaking a tree, getting louder and louder, getting hit by falling nuts, swatting the bees, climbing the tree, quietly removing the honey with his claw, stomping again, growling high and low, running through the trees, getting louder and louder, knock! knock! knock! knock! Swatting at the bees. Go away! Ouch!
