Marco waited under his favorite palm tree.
"Where are they?" he wondered.
Page 2
"They're back! They're back!" Marco shouted. "The snowbirds are back."
"There goes the peace and quiet," said Webb.
"How many this year?" asked Coral.
Page 3
Every year Marco had been curious about the snowbirds. So today he asked Goose, "Why do you come here every winter?"
"Ah, it's paradise here, Flamingo. Never cold and NO SNOW."
"What's snow?" Marco asked.
"You don't want to know!" Goose replied.
Page 4
But Marco did want to know about snow.
So, he asked a group of ducks, "What's snow?"
"You don't want to know!" they replied.

Marco spent the night reading.
"I'll find out for myself," he thought.

The next morning Marco headed north.
"Use some common sense," said Shelly.
"Send us a postcard!" yelled Coral.
Page 7
He flew and he flew and he flew.
It got colder...
Page 10
He flew until he could fly no longer.
Page 13
Marco went snowboarding and snowshoeing.
He built a snowman and made snowballs!
Page 14
Marco went ice-fishing and skiing...
Page 15
And finally wrote a postcard
to his friends at home...

"Who migrates north in the winter?" asked Webb.
"Where are the palm trees?" asked Coral.
"Marco is certainly a rare bird," said Shelly.
Page 17
Well, maybe not so rare after all...
