Grumbull the caveman was worried.
Linka, his wife, was making a yummy sloth stew.
"What's wrong?" she asked.
Page 2
"Have you seen our cat, Neko?" asked Grumbull.
"I bet he's chasing dinosaurs," said Linka. "He should be back soon."
Page 3
Grumbull was still worried. "Maybe I should go look for him, just to make sure he's okay."
Linka grew concerned. "The island is a big and dangerous place. Be sure to follow his footprints so you can find him quickly and not get lost."
Page 4
"Me get lost?" Grumbull laughed.
"Don't forget I'm a mighty hunter.
I know my way around this
island like I know my own club."
Page 5
Grumbull gave Linka a wave as he began his adventure to find Neko.
Linka called after him, "Remember to follow Neko's footprints."
"Yes, yes, yes," assured Grumbull, only half listening.
Page 6
Within the jungle many
spooky eyes looked his way.
Page 7
Soon Grumbull came upon a path that led to the swamp.
"Footprints!" he said, "they must be Neko's."
He quickly began to follow them.
Page 8
Grumbull soon discovered the footprints did
not belong to his cat, but instead to
a dinosaur named Bruno.
Page 9
"GRRR." Bruno attempted to smash Grumbull under his heavy feet. Grumbull, however, was quick to run away.
Page 10
Grumbull discovered another set of footprints.
"Surely these belong to Neko," he said.
He followed the footprints into the desert.
Page 11
"Oh no!"
The footprints belonged to a flying dinosaur named Terry.
Page 12
"KAW, KAW, KAW," squawked Terry.
She began to peck at Grumbull with her sharp beak. Grumbull was able to escape, but without his club.
Page 13
Grumbull came upon another set of footprints leading to the top of a volcano.
"Okay, these really must belong to Neko," he said.
Page 14
Upon reaching the top of the Volcano, Grumbull
was horrified to find the footprints belonged
to a dinosaur named Rex.
Page 15
Before Rex could strike, Neko came to the rescue. The cat growled angrily and gnashed his teeth.
Page 16
"Rrraaawwwrrr!"
With a mighty swish of Rex's giant tail, Grumbull and Neko flew down into the volcano.
Page 17
Both Grumbull and Neko landed on a ledge.
Grumbull had hit his head hard on the rocks.
Although he was in a lot of danger,
he suddenly found himself fast asleep.
Page 18
The next morning, Grumbull awoke to find himself sitting safely in his own bed.
"I'm alive," he said happily to his wife.
"Of course you are," said Linka.
"Did you save me?" he asked.
"Yes, I did," she smiled.
Page 19
"But how did you find me?" asked Grumbull. "I was all the way through the jungle, past the swamp, past the desert and inside the volcano."
Page 20
"I followed your footprints," smiled Linka.
